Impact Students Encourage Each Other

Literacy Block in Action

Take a peek at what our Impact literacy instruction time looks like. Kids are enjoying good fit books as they do read to self. The teachers are meeting with kids to instruct reading skills and strategies and conferencing with individual students to discuss what they are reading and how to support their needs as a reader.

See Impact in Action

Click on the link below to see a clip from our day.  This was taken during our literacy time in the morning.  First each child receives a mini lesson from their teacher and then they have guided practice time to work on the lesson's learning target.

Welcome to Impact--School has started

Thanks for your patience as you awaited our next post. It has been a busy month.  We were finally able to get into our space the last week of August and welcomed families that week at open house. Since then we have been settling into the school year. After our first two weeks of school, we are all adjusting to our new space.  We are enjoying our community meetings, Impact buddies (grades K and 2, Grades 1 and 3), and community team building time.  Take a peek at the pictures below.

Mrs. Smith (our new Principal) stopped in to greet us on the first day during our Community Morning Meeting.  Photo taken of our K-3 community of 110 students and 4 anchor teachers.

Our Kinders First Big Day at school.

Enjoying time with our Kinder and 2nd grade buddies.

Our classroom furniture arrived today.

At 3:30 this afternoon, a truck from Accent showed up in the parking lot ready to unload our donated furniture for Impact.  Stay tuned, we will post more pictures soon.

Beginning of August Update

We are excited to show you Impact Academy's learning space as it begins to take shape. Although it is still under construction, look for the new paint colors as you view the pictures below.

As you enter IA's entrance this is what you see.

Impact's Classroom Under Construction

Towards the end of June our classroom started taking shape.  A wall in the media center came down to add additional learning space for Impact.  A special thanks to Eicholtz Masonry Inc. and the Oxton Family for donating the time and materials to make this possible.

IA's Summer Retreat

In June we all got together for the weekend to write the I-can statements for our English Language Arts Standards for grades K-5.  These I-can statements will be posted for the kids to know what their target area of learning is for the day/week.

Welcome to Impact Academy's Blog

Impact Academy's development team has been working hard over the last two years to get to where we are today.  We are five weeks away until we open the doors for kids.  As excited as we all are, we wanted to share the journey with you.  This will be a place where you can see what the development team is working on and a place where you can post questions that you may have, at the bottom of an entry.
